PFA has excellent chemical stability, physical and mechanical properties, electrical insulation, lubricity, non stickiness, aging resistance and non flammability, which are similar to those of PCE. It also has the same thermal stability as poly (tetrachloroethylene), long-term service temperature is - 250 ~ 250 ℃, thermal decomposition temperature is above 450 ℃, even in 285 ℃ air can still be stable for 2000 H. Its outstanding feature is good thermoplasticity. Its high-temperature mechanical strength is about 2 times higher than that of ordinary polytetrafluoroethylene.
